Tripp Twins
We are so excited to share that Tripp Twins will be arriving in December of this year 2023!!!!
If you haven’t seen over on social, I’m currently pregnant with TWINS! I’m 21 weeks right now and we shared on IG at 14 weeks. I’m finally getting this blog post up because these photos are just too special not to share here. It’s surreal I’m halfway through pregnancy already— I feel like the year has flown by! And at the same time I can’t believe in four short months I’ll have THREE children.
So a little backstory…
I got my IUD out last December, as we were ready to start trying for another child. We were very intentionally trying, and I had a positive pregnancy test by April. I found out at 4.5 weeks… and actually the first pregnancy test I took was negative but I KNEW I was pregnant (sore boobs), it was just too early for a test. The next day when I took another test the line was super SUPER faint, but confirmed! From there the line just got darker and darker. We were so thrilled and excited! This was just a few days before our trip to Puerto Rico to visit family. I made an appointment when we got back and couldn’t wait to hear the baby’s heartbeat! I started feeling super tired right away and the nausea set in around 6.5 weeks.
Fast forward to our first appointment at 8 weeks… Robbie and I are chitchatting with the nurse as we are getting all set up for the first ultrasound. As she begins, she says “So there’s two babies in here!” and we are just in complete shock. I’m seeing the two blobs on the screen and it wasn’t even quite processing. I immediately start sobbing (lol) and Robbie says “Are you serious? I guess you can’t joke about that.” and then he just starts saying over and over again how special and cool this is! I’m honestly so happy he responded that way because I was truly in complete shock, haha!
It turns out, we do have twins on both sides of the family, but genetically they run through the mother’s side. My great-great grandma’s younger sisters were twins, so it’s skipped quite a few generations. It was a LOT to process at first and felt very overwhelming. But of course we were also so happy and overjoyed to be bringing two more Tripp babies into our lives to complete our family.
Now halfway through pregnancy, it just feels so meant to be and we couldn’t be more excited! Taz is super excited to be a big brother and tells me every single day “I love your babies!” with lots of belly kisses. He will be the best big brother! We are all so excited!
I’ll be sharing our gender reveal photos in the next blog post, so for now enjoy our Tripp Twins Announcement photos below. xx
